Next session Tuesday 27th February 2024

  • 1 hour
  • Friar Gate

Service Description

Sadly we know there is a rise in children who are harming themselves in some way due to experiencing difficulties with their mental health. To support parents and carers who are worried their child might be engaging in self harming behaviours, we have put on a free session for you to come and find out more about how to best to support your child at a time when you yourself will be very worried about them. This session is ran by directors of Bridge the Gap who have a wealth of personal and professional experience in the field of mental health and in supporting children who are currently self harming or who have historically self-harmed. Come and spend time exploring what to do if you are worried about your child who might be self harming or who is engaging in self harming behaviours. We will be delivering information on: - how best to support your child at this time, - tips and strategies in building a safety plan to support them, - giving knowledge around where to turn for support - general supportive discussion for your own individual needs and concerns. Non-judgmental, safe and secure environment, held in person at Bridge the Gap CIC, 45 Friargate, Derby, DE1 1DA.
