Free Local Support
We offer FREE drop in support clinics in venues around Derby. Please join our mailing list or follow us on Facebook by searching @jwbridgethegap to be notified when and where these are scheduled.
For a donation, we are happy to visit schools, nurseries, or toddler groups to offer a free 5/10 minute talk about what Emotional Literacy is and how it supports emotional development and health. Parents can explore resources and discover new ways to bring emotional language into the home. Email email@example.com to find out more.
We offer a variety of parent workshops designed with one objective in mind...for you, as parents, to have a greater understanding of how your child develops, to help maintain strong connections with your child and help to protect their mental health.
Children's mental health is in crisis and it's important for us to gain an understanding of why that is so we can support their emotional development in the best way possible.
As a parent you are continuously bombarded with lots of 'rights' and 'wrongs', and the goal posts are constantly changing on everything from weaning, naughty steps, what food is good, what food is bad, controlled crying...the list goes on. The one thing that is constant is how children develop.
By understanding key factors of your child's development you are able to connect and respond in a way that has the potential to make a huge difference for your child in the now, but also for the future.
Understanding the vital importance and significance of the three prime areas of development means we approach situations in a very different way. As a parent and as a professional.
We currently offer workshops and talks on the three prime areas of development, the most popular being,
'Understanding Your Child's Emotions and How They Drive Behaviour - a Guide to Emotional Literacy', this can be aimed at parents of both younger or older children.
*Supporting an Anxious Child
*Social Media and the Impact on Mental Health
*Parenting in the Early Years
Parenting is never easy and we face different difficulties through the years; each stage brings new and different challenges along with it.
It can be difficult to know where to seek advice when concerned with your child's stage of development; tantrums, issues with school, friendships, pressure to achieve, striving for perfection and exams and tests. The list is never ending.
Bridge the Gap can offer solutions by helping you to understand your child and their development. Once we understand 'why' we are able to see things clearer and offer effective support with practical strategies to help.
We offer one to one consultations, coaching and support, either face to face or online.
We specialise in emotional development and supporting children's mental health and have experience with all ages; we have supported families and their teens through social media addiction and exam pressure.
If you need any advice on how to support your child or teen, or you need support yourself then please get in touch. We offer a free initial 20 minute conversation so please don't worry alone.
