Service Description

If you are looking at accessing Bridge the Gap support then please book a 45 minute telephone consultation with a team member to explore concerns you might have about your child's mental health. This consultation space is for parents or carers to discuss their worries relating to their child in a safe space without judgement. Whatever your child is struggling with, whether it be sleep, friendships, behaviour, self esteem, anxiety, worry, anger, self harm - we will explore with you about what you can do to immediately support them at home, coping strategies you could look at in more depth and a plan moving forward of support. This will be what we believe would be the most beneficial support for your child based on the information you have shared with us. Please note we are not a clinical mental health service, we are unable to make a diagnosis for your child. Our service is relationship-focused, non-clinical support for parents and children. This is a call for you to feel heard and have somewhere to turn to when you might feel confused and worried about your child. We support children up to the age of 25 years at Bridge the Gap. We will call you for this phone consultation. This initial call with a parent/carer is a gateway into our service - whether you are interested in seeking one to one support for your child, interested in attending group sessions or just after someone to talk to gather further information, this is the first contact you will have with us. We will call you so please ensure you leave the most appropriate number for us to contact.
