Supporting a Child with OCD Symptoms

Webinar for Parents/Carers Tuesday 17th November 7pm - 8pm

8.99 British pounds
Online via Teams

Service Description

Supporting Your Child with OCD type Symptoms. When your child is experiencing obsessive thoughts, worries or compulsive behaviours, it can be difficult to know what to say, what to do, and how to support them without accidentally making things harder. This supportive and practical webinar will help parents and carers develop a better understanding of OCD symptoms in children and young people, including what OCD can look like, why compulsions can become so powerful, and how anxiety and OCD can interact. We’ll explore practical ways you can support your child at home, including how to respond to reassurance-seeking, how to avoid unintentionally reinforcing OCD, and how to help your child build confidence in managing difficult thoughts and feelings. We’ll also consider when additional support may be needed, what professional help can look like, and how you can support your child while looking after your own wellbeing too. This webinar is suitable for parents and carers who are wondering whether their child may be experiencing OCD symptoms, as well as those who already have a better understanding of OCD and want practical strategies to support them. Please note: this webinar provides education and practical guidance for parents and carers. It is not intended to provide individual assessment or diagnosis. Online recorded webinar available for up to 7 days after live delivery.
