Service Description

When children struggle emotionally it can leave us as their parent or carer, feeling worried, unsure what to do, or wondering if you are getting it wrong. The truth is, children’s behaviour and emotional responses usually make sense when we understand what is happening underneath.   This three-week live course is designed to help parents better understand their child’s emotional world and learn practical ways to support them.   Across three relaxed and supportive LIVE online sessions we will explore why children sometimes feel overwhelmed, what may be driving the behaviours we see, and how we can respond in ways that strengthen connection and emotional safety.   This is not about being a “perfect parent.” It is about building confidence, understanding and practical tools you can use at home.   Sessions are delivered live online in a small group (maximum 20 parents) so that there is space for discussion, shared experiences and questions. Cameras on is encouraged where possible so we can create a supportive and connected learning environment. What We’ll Explore Week 1 – Why Are Children Struggling? Understanding what might be happening beneath behaviour, how children experience emotional overwhelm, and how to support a child in moments of distress or crisis. Week 2 – Screens, Social Media & Modern Pressures How the digital world impacts children’s emotional wellbeing, understanding the challenges children face online, and finding a balanced approach that supports healthy development. Week 3 – Coping Skills & Emotional Literacy Helping children understand their feelings, developing emotional language, and introducing practical strategies that support regulation and resilience. Who This Course Is For This course is suitable for parents and carers of children of all ages who would like to better understand their child’s emotional wellbeing and feel more confident supporting them. You might find it helpful if your child: struggles with big emotions becomes easily overwhelmed worries a lot or feels anxious finds friendships or school difficult has low confidence or self-esteem withdraws from friends or family or if you simply want to support their emotional development proactively.
